The day my dad took me out in the old 1963 Chevy for my first driving

The day my dad took me out in the old 1963 Chevy for my first driving practice test is a day I will never forget. The first driving lesson was scary enough. The driving practice test he made me do was breath taking. I had to drive back and forth across a bridge with nothing underneath it but air for a long way down. Nothing on either side either, just two boards to put the tires on. Talk about afraid, I was terrified. I will say this though, once you get used to that, you feel like you can drive through anything!

My girlfriends were lucky in that all they had to know to start learning to drive from their fathers was how the car works. They had to learn all about the motor. How it all works together to get the cars moving down the road. They know more than I ever wanted to know about a motor.

Both of my brothers had to get their driving practice test from our mother. I have no idea how it went because neither of them would talk about it at all. She made them take test from an online test site. I often wondered why they wouldn't discuss it with me. They asked me when I was going through the driving lessons with our dad. I didn't mind talking about it at all. In fact, I asked them to come along with us, but dad always told them no way. One juvenile in the car to learn to drive at a time! How funny, we all just laughed at him. He never lost his cool with me however. He was a great teacher. Looking back on it now I am sure he made me the good careful driver I am today.

I still don't know that much about a motor, other than it needs oil changes, make sure it is has plenty of water, check tires for wear before I get in to drive anywhere. The online test they have available now to reduce your insurance rates I have taken every three years. My brothers get to do that every other year for the tickets they always seem to get. Taking the online test reduces the fines! (Smile)
