Riding Car Cars Lesson

Having a few days break from work and having decided to clear out my garage which had accumulated about 10 years of clutter, I telephoned the local rubbish skip hire company to have a rubbish skip delivered early the next morning.

In the morning as I happily set about my task I failed to pay much attention to the inquisitive children making their way to the nearby schools. I paid little or no attention to the fact that a few of them were surreptitiously glancing into the skip.

My garage proved to be a veritable Aladdin's cave containing text books from the schools that I had attended, a large pile, of auto trader magazines, and a very old motor cycle crash helmet which brought back happy memories of the motor cycling days of my youth. Looking back on these care free days I do not know how I managed to escape having a crash on my motor bike. It must have have been due to luck rather then good judgement.

The memories brought back by the books from the schools of my childhood were also happy and carefree ones. Although I did recall having a crash on my bicycle as a result of taking a corner too fast, resulting in me acquiring a very large bump on my head. In those far off days no one wore a safety helmet when cycling.

On opening one of the cupboard doors in the garage, I came across a shelf of ancient auto accessories including 5 year old polish and car wax. All of these were dutifully consigned to the skip along with several auto battery chargers covered in what appeared to fungal growth.

Several hours later and the clear out was complete. I now had an empty garage which I could use to put the car in but before doing so, it required to be thoroughly swept and cleaned. Several more hours later I had an empty and clean garage ready to welcome my car.

It had been a very long day but on reflection a very worthwhile one.

Half an hour later relaxing happily with a well earned can of beer the thought just me; the attic could do with a good clear out and there are lots of other nooks and crannies in my house where clutter had accumulated. "Oh well," I thought "another day another rubbish skip hire."
