We were living in our Uncle's one year old forest cabin, within five miles of our maternal cattle ranch. My uncle has to go to a midi skip hire in the town to get a skipfor the ranch. Let me tell you that, the place we were in was enveloped by forest all around. I used to spend most of my spare time roaming around the woods or enjoying amotorcycleride with my elder brothers . Thewoods hada verypeculiarproperty. I felt as if they always changed from the time Ihave seen last. In other words, the forest was always new to me. We really enjoyed our vacation at our grand parents'. Our parents had let us live two more weeks there due to them being busy with some insurance groups.

It was a windy autumn evening. After a cheap and enjoyable lunch in acafeteriadowntown, I went for a walk to the west face of the mountains, where a certain river flows through a rift in between the mountain. The trees looked ghostly and there was no sign ofgreenery in thesurrounding. It was a sense of everlasting gloominess that shrouded all the entities there. As I walked listless and unaware of my direction, I suddenly noticed a queer plant the stood apart among all the flora and fauna in that area. It hadcurlyand beautiful leaves full of liveliness and gaiety. Iremembered having seen it before;in the offices of the insurance groups my father has taken me too. It was also only cheap and really affordabletropical plant in Old Joe's Nursery. I wondered how come it came to such a desolate place. I also noticed that a decrepit motorcycle tyre surrounding the girth of the plant.

When I returned home later in that evening I found UncleAlex, already back and cleaning his motorcycle . He informed me that we were to leave thatSunday and my parents would come to pick us. He also said that the insurance groups have agreed my father'sproposal regarding Grandpa's funds. I asked him about the cheapfern that I found in midst of the woods. He said it was a memorial to the grave of a colt that died many months before and was buried there, and the plant was a gift to them from my mother.
