We were moving into the place across the street. It had been an unusua

We were moving into the place across the street. It had been an unusually busy day on what once was a quiet road. There was an annoying hgv driver who kept singing loudly to the songs on the radio. It wouldn't be so bad if he could sing. The hgv driver was there for most of the day taking up most of the road.
A strange man was walking up to everyone asking if they wanted a skip to hire. I brushed him away because today definitely wasn't the day. It was a baking hot day and we were movingIt's funny to make such a life changing decision and only have to travel across the road. I loved travel so it didn't quite feel right to me. I would have liked to have got behind the wheel of our new car but it wasn't to be.
The hgv driver finally left us in a stretcher. It seems he had an altercation with Mr Jones at number 15 who took exception to his singing. I can't say I blame him.It was then to my sheer horror I noticed the scratch on our new car. I remember time stopping still. I felt enraged. I ran up to it forgetting everything and cried inside. I had only driven it once.
It didn't feel like a new car anymore. It felt like an almost car. I decided eventually just to forget about it. We had a long journey ahead of us I joked. Ironically enough as the day ticked on I felt happy that there was minimal travel involved.I just wanted to lie down and think about my car. In fact I decided to do something some people would maybe call strange.
Once we'd moved everything I told my family to get in the car and we drove around the block. We pretended that all this was new to us. I know I said I wanted to go to bed but I felt a new excitement in me the moment we finished. As we pulled up to our new house I remember thinking how far the young boy had come.
