Riding Car Cars Lesson

This is a story about a young girl that was only 10 and her name is Brooke. Brooke was smart for her age, and knew everything just by reading one line in a sentence.

This girl was talking about taking a driving practice test on the computer. Her parents were so shocked about this and even more shocking was Brooke knew about insurance. She did take a driving test on the computer and she passed it with flying colors.

She would always bring up about enrolling her in the driving schools. It was like how many driving schools you want to enroll in, Brooke. She even searched the internet for driving schools. Brooke informed us that her results come up with 3 sites that were close to home.

I was wondering if I should have enrolled her in the talented and gifted program that our school had offered. Not only did we hear about driving schools, she also told us she was looking at math classes. It wasn’t just basic math, or the math you do in third and fourth grade, this was Algebra. Like I said, I am completely amazed at her wanting to do all of this.

How many kids do you know that are 10 years old that are doing all of this at this age. How do we explain to Brooke that you have to be 16 to drive a car, or be in high school to enter the class for Algebra? We don’t want her to become discouraged when she is older in learning about these courses, so we decided to do the next best thing.

We bought her a computer and set it up in her bedroom. She was given time limits on how long she could be on it and she had to be in bed at a certain time. She was willing to obey all the rules, and she marked down everything on a piece of paper to know what the rules were.

Still amazed at her being so smart, she continued on her journey with driving schools. She tried tricking us one night and said she found one that took 11 year olds. We decided to look at the site and it said 14 year olds were allowed to sign up if they had their permit. Brooke would try anything to be older than she was, including wearing make up to make her look older.

It will be interesting when she does get older, that is for sure. I just hope she is as interested in all of this by that time, as she is now.
